"One dead and three serious," said Fire Chief Ken Erickson. "That is a great Bike Week."

Maybe it's just me, but my definition of "great" would be zero fatalities and no injuries. Not realistic maybe and I'm sure Chief Erickson was being sincere in comparing this years bike week to past events, but if you were the parent or wife or best friend of the 24 year old who was killed or of the three people seriously injured, you would not agree it was a great week and might find the Chief's comment to be somewhat insensitive. We as a society profess zero tolerance for many things, some good and some stupid, so why not traffic fatalities? This past week after all was a tourist event, not a combat mission.
 Just sayin...
