Selectmen to Meet with Center Harbor Selectboard Tonight at 7pm, Center Harbor Town Hall

I don't believe there will be anything of great concern or import with this meeting, but rather just a periodic "meet and greet" between the two neighboring communities governing bodies. I am always in favor of more communication and seeking opportunities for collaboration with neighboring communities that will benefit taxpayers. It is an open meeting and is open to the public.

Some of us would like to see a co-operative spirit from Center Harbor regarding boat launch and beach use...
It seem to some of us that they get to use our Taxpayer funded Hockey Rink, Playing fields and Library for free, so why are we charged for using some of their facilities and banned from others?

This could also be asked of Sandwich.

Excellent point Josh. Have you considered running for Selectman? Taxpayers could use a good advocate with common sense. The TA is out of control and a few on the Select Board have turned a blind eye.

AMEN, Josh...you beat me to it! We took a Sunday drive around Squam, and it is posted clearly that the beach, launch, docks, etc, are for Sandwich txpayers and residents only, subject to a fine for offenders! So...why are we so generous????

To quote our Rep Ms. Crawford "because we can!"

On any given warm summer day, more than half of the Center Harbor beach goers are Moultonborough residents. You can get a library card in the library too. I don't believe everything is as exclusionary as Josh makes it out to be.

I stand corrected - I was misinformed.
Thanks for letting me know that I can use the beach and the library in Center Harbor.
I have, however been charged a fee to launch a boat in Center harbor and have not tried to see if Sandwich will actually tow my car from one of the Squam lake beaches.

In our joint meeting with the Center Harbor Selectmen it was confirmed that we have a reciprocal agreement with them for use of beach facilities.
