For Reasonable Regulation said...

Congratulations to the Planning Board for sticking to its guns and approving an absolute limit of 12 (except for the Bay Sewer District) for waterfront rental housing despite the real estate broker disingenuous pleas.. This represents the first step in trying to insure some minimal limitations on pollution into our lakes, streams and rivers.

While a limitation of 12 may seem high, based upon personal observation of waterfront properties in the Suissevale and Balmoral areas where many waterfront lots are 1/4 to 1/2 acre and have at most a 2 or 3 bedroom septic permit,

I would hope that where the DES has issued a permit for a bedroom that ultimately the regulation will limit occupancy to 3 per bedroom as DES approvals so limit.

I also hope that some methodology can be fashioned to repair not only rental, but all defective septic systems to limit water pollution.
