Solar Farm on the old dump? The man said electricity won't necessarily be cheaper just because it's solar. Who in their right mind will pay more?
Answer...tree-huggers. Lots of them out there.
Who would pay a 100+ thousand for a car when you can purchase a great one for half or even a quarter of that?
Is the town clerks position, presently filled by Barbara Wakefield, covered by the town's insurance? If so shouldn't Russ Wakefield have recused himself from voting on that particular issue?
I agree with just wondering. I really believe that it is a total conflict of interest for Russ to be a Selectman when his wife is the Town Clerk. Too much.nepotism in Town. We need a clean break from this type of conflict. Either one or the other should not run for reelection and our ethics policy should be revamped to avoid future conflicts of interest of this type.
Since Russ did vote for the insurance plan, (4 Ayes and 1 Nay (Paul) it would be good to know how this was balanced against the "Code of Conduct". If Barbara is on the Town plan and Russ is on as a dependent, then it would appear that he and his family would benefit from this decision. The TA did a disclosure when he was involved in business with POSA, did Russ make a similar disclosure for this issue. Even if there is no issue, he should have since any benefit that his spouse may draw from the Town does benefit him.
