Budget Meetings to Continue Friday December 12th 2014.

Quite a bit on the "agenda" including the Department of Public Works  and the Recreation  Department budget presentations.  Public Work is scheduled to begin at 08:30 to be followed by Recreation. Hard to say how long each will last.
In addition among other items, there will be a discussion of warrant articles and amendments proposed to the CIPC and MPIC charges and the proposed extension of the KV Partner's contract.

Public works....if they need any new trucks force them to turn in the old ones, do not give the trade-ins to the Fire Dept. D P W gave an old pick-up to the FD a couple of years ago....F D did not make a case for it, but said it would be handy...Now that truck has fallen apart, and the F D needs a new one to replace it.
Make sure the D P W turns in all it's old trucks.

Amendments proposed to the CIPC and MPIC charge....is this a continuation of the effort by the T A to gut the authority of these two committees ? Letting citizen committees ask questions, and offer opinions has shed lots of daylight, and added much transparency to the budget process. DO NOT. Allow any efforts to limit these committees make it to a warrant article....we know who writes them, with help from our town attorney. Citizen participation must be protected. Town Hall has too much control over town affairs. BOS, protect your sanity, and slow this down.

Proposed extension of Town Engineers contract. If you ever want to have another public building built in Moultonboro, you will have to get a design dept. In touch with the public, and practical and straightforward with people. We currently have a sales dept, trying to jockey things thru running proposed town projects.
Until we have confidence that things will be done right, it's best that nothing gets done.. Look long and hard at the contract extension. It is NOT the cost of the contract, it is the cost of the decisions.

The DPW and the Fire Dept have a contest going on...who ever gets the most trucks wins. First prize is lunch with the T A, on the taxpayers naturally....

A vote to put the town's contract engineering firm back out to bid is a good vote for Moultonboro's future. Many will not give the town a blank check for new construction because we do not draw in the correct protocall for developing public buildings. The BOS is going to have to take some decisive actions here, to restore public confidence.
The current game deals with decisions made behind the public view, and then announcing a couple of quick public meetings, where the public, given a Hobson's choice, " decides ". Transparent and tiring...

Thanks Joe, for the link to the posted warrant articles. Article 10 is concerning. It lists 20 previously adopted ordinances to ratify, yet all we get is a title. I'd have to vote no, because being "relative" to something doesn't give me a clue what I'm voting on.
