After reviewing the tape of last weeks Planning Board meeting I thought it unprofessional of Selectman Russ Wakefield to make derogatory comments about Real Estate agents. If Selectman Wakefield has a complaint he should bring it before the Real Estate Board of Ethics, and not smear the name of all Realtors at a public meeting. His comments were made during the Broad Band discussion which was the last item on the agenda.
What I heard in the last few minutes of the meeting was Russ being Russ. Just a tad politically incorrect, but not too far from reality.
"... I thought it unprofessional of Selectman Russ Wakefield to make derogatory comments about Real Estate agents."We are all entitled to our opinions.Russ Wakefield's comments were comical in my view, and apparently to others, judging by the laughter. The focus of that part of the video was Rich's valid point about Caveat Emptor (Let the Buyer Beware). I would add, ... and not MoBo becoming a nanny state, and providing to those who feel they are "entitled". The use of public funds to "provide" for a privileged few does have a legal term ... malfeasance! Where have you heard that term before! Why should broadband be considered a public utility, which it is not, than water and sewer, which are? Have you got town sewer or town water ... I don't!Broadband may become a public utility, by federal fiat, under Title II, when FCC Chair Wheeler, has a vote/releases a report circa Feb. 26, 2015.All this talk about broadband will change complexion, then, maybe. So stop spinning your wheels, till you hear from the Feds.Any infringement on U.S. Constitutional property rights, by the town ... and I'll be the first, to sue the town! Not a threat ... a promise!http://object.cato.org/sites/cato.org/files/serials/files/cato-handbook-policymakers/2009/9/hb111-34.pdfIt looks like "snow-jobs" are really targeting MoBo this winter. Why not ... plenty of money.
