The latest on the County financial mess can be seen here on WMUR. Anyone want to be a Commissioner?
( Vacancies are filled per RSA 661:9: "If a vacancy occurs in the office of a county commissioner, the members of the county convention shall fill the vacancy by majority vote until the next biennial election of county officer"

"A meeting will be held Aug. 17 to address the budget concerns. Representatives from the agencies that could be affected are encouraged to attend."

Sure ...that'll fix the problem ... right!

"Robichaud said cutting funding would be a last resort, but he doesn't believe that filing for bankruptcy is the answer."

Of course, not the answer ... just buys time for the cast of characters to act with some protection for the county. Who/what is going to foreclose on the county ... our state delegation?

Robichaud was hired as part of the solution; that, credible audits, and delegation oversight will prevent future chaos.

"The purpose of Chapter 9 is to negotiate a repayment plan between the municipality and creditors, which can include reducing the outstanding debt or interest rate, extending the term of the loan and refinancing debts."
