From today's Union Leader: Donald Trump’s state veterans co-chairman Al Baldasaro Tweeted out a link Monday to a website offering a conspiracy theory that claims Khizr Khan is a “Muslim Brotherhood” agent who wants to advance Sharia law in the U.S.
Baldasaro defended the link to Shoebat.com when asked about it by a reporter, but an hour later, Baldasaro was questioning the veracity of what he had promoted on Twitter. “After reading info on Walid Shoebat, who has been on national television, I am not sure about his credibility,” Baldasaro Tweeted
What I find interesting about his Tweets is that they are emblematic of the propensity of many today. Jumping to the conclusion that there must be a conspiracy behind everything they disagree with because they just can't accept the truth. Beyond that, it appears few ever really attempt to fact check any claims. Throw it out there and eventually something will stick. The problem is that many things ( so many things!) are out there that not true, but they keep getting repeated on social media and too many believe it to be the real deal.
Baldasaro must have learned this from the Donald: Fire, then ready, aim...and then either:
a) Deny you said it ,
b) Tell the media what you said is not what you were thinking,
c) Blame it on CNN and or Mrs. Clinton and President Obama,
d) Send endless insulting Tweets, or ( usually),
e) All of the above
