Latest from NHEC on Power Restoration. Kudos to the Rec Department Staff for Helping with Emergency Shelter.

The following is the latest update from the Co-op on power restoration. A special thank you is in order to our Recreation team along with the Lakes Region Emergency Response Team for opening and overseeing the emergency shelters. Donna Kuethe, Dan Sturgeon and Donna Tatro jumped in and provided necessary assistance. A great example of great town employees going above and beyond.
The shelters are expected to remain open for at least the next few days.

Kudos also to our DPW, Police and Fire Chiefs and employees for the many, many hours working in extremely harsh conditions.

Where was this letter from NHEC posted so we could be informed? Keeping it in Town Hall doesn't cut it.
How did the town reach out to folks without power and Internet and phone to welcome them to the shelters?

This notice was received tonight at 6pm. Town Hall had no internet or phone like many of us until late this afternoon. Every available means to get the word out was utilized.
Emergency personnel have been working around the clock and using Code Red alert and the rec dept and school alerts to provide updates and info as well as Facebook. I think they did a great job under very difficult circumstances.

What the heck do you want? The town was w/o power. I got a phone message about showers etc that were available. Are you signed up for emergency notices? That is how they 'reached out'. Were you one that needed info? Or just one criticizing? I'm sick of this BS. Why don't you do something for people instead of running your damn mouth?

Lots of people who live on or around 109 South are being kept off the roads and can't get to needed appointments, get gas for generators, food or even to the warming shelters. Why aren't the police around to redirect traffic to enable residents to get out. This has been going on since Wednesday. Does anyone form the TA and BoS go down 109 South to see what is going on

I have an elderly neighbor who had an important medical appointment at Huggins and was turned back when she got on 109.

The Town needs to address this problem no.
